Good product
I used another clear coat a couple years ago. It faded, turned yellow and peeled in a short time. This time I used Diamond Clear. Application was easy. I would recommend spraying it on though. The mini roller (as suggested by manufacturer) left a texture in the finish from bubbles. But my 1992 ProCraft looks great again.

KBS Killer Clear Coat
I use KBS Diamond Clear (quart size) for my fishing lures to clearcoat them in the final process after they have been airbrushed. I dip all my lures in KBS and if used correctly it does a wonderful job with a very durable finish. I have an online website and also sell my lures at craft fairs. I am very particular and want only the best when I sell my products, and KBS has given me the quality I want in my work. In using the one quart size I can dip hundreds of lures, but with that said I also use the Paint Saver after each time I open it to ensure longer life of the product. I find KBS to be a very quality product and would recommend it to anyone who may make custom fishing lures like I do or may use it in a similar matter. Thank you KBS also for your quick shipping of your products when I order. KBS is a great product in my opinion.

Great Product
I used this direct to metal clear coat for a custom kitchen hood that we originally used a pewter grey patina on. Since this item was made from mild steel and knowing the environment it would be used in it was critical to use a clear coat to seal all of the metal to keep it from potentially rusting. I sprayed this on using at HVLP paint gun and it worked great. While I'm not the best painter, and there is orange peel, it did coat very well and left a very nice gloss finish. I'd use this product in the future on other jobs that require a durable DTM coating. Very please and so is the customer.

DiamondFinish Clear worked great on guitar refinish
Customer support/technical questions was very good and prompt. Brushed on several coats on a guitar sprinkled with glitter for sparkle effect. Product was easy to work with, and I am very happy with my results. The only issue I had was due to user error; I applied a couple of coats too soon and way too thick; hence I have some tiny bubbles on the back of the guitar I believe due to out gassing. Am extremely happy with the finish and gloss after level sanding and polishing!

A professional sculptor's best friend!
I have to admit, my first experience with this product, I didn't contact support and didn't apply it properly, so my results reflected that lack of effort on my part, jiat as any quality coating does. I tried again at someone else's recommendation, and that time I asked their friendly and incredibly helpful support guys about what to use and how to apply it. (WHY or why didn't I do that the first time? Humility is the beginning of wisdom folks.) The results were phenomenal and I've been sold on this product ever since. I create moving sculptures and statues from reclaimed metal of many different compositions, jeanclaudevanderfield.net, and in outdoor installations, nothing tops KBS for UV resistence, longevity, durability, and appearance! If you're not using this product, you're missing out. As a personal tip, if you aren't sure what or how to use it, call these guys, they are ultra friendly, helpful, and you actually get to talk to a real person immediately. Their service is top notch, just like their product! After this clear coat sets, nothing bothers it, acid, saltwater, storms, dings, etc, it's the last thing you ever need to know in finishing outdoor metal and the first thing you should think of when you are ready to put that final protection on.

Good stuff, but...
This is without a doubt a very good product, but one has to take steps to ensure it performs as one expects. 1) Clean is key. Your part needs to be extra clean or you will not be happy with your results. 2) Patience is also very important. I make knives. I use brass for some of my guards. Brass tends to tarnish with time. I was looking for a good coating which will protect the brass so it doesn't have to be continuously polished. KBS Diamond coat will do this, (I think permanently). However, I found I must be extra patient after coating my handle and guard. It takes a full three days drying time before I can handle the piece without leaving finger prints. 3) One coat applied with brush or dipping works better than multiple coats with MinWax spray polyurethane, AND Diamond coat does not yellow over time. This is very important for me. Overall, I highly recommend this product. Tom Stone One of a Kind Collectible Knives

Best clear coat available today.
So I painted my aluminum Jon boat and wanted to protect the paint with a really good clear coat. Did my research and read reviews. Applied two coats of this Diamond coat. Loved the results, so I added a third coat. Let me just say that the results are excellent. It's solid and looks brilliant. Not sure how many use this product on a boat, but I am extremely glad that I did.

Crazy Amazing Diamond Finish Clear
Clear Diamond Finish is amazing! Great product. It's important to read and follow all the documentation that KBS provides with the product package. The information will truly help keep you from getting frustrated. I found that laying a single, small piece of wax paper on top of can prior to closing the lid will help prevent the lid from sticking to can. Do not double the wax paper because the lid will not stay closed. The lid closes and will stay closed using one single, small piece. The plastic wrap was too thin to work with for me; however, I tried it first. Per the instructions, always make sure the top of can groove for the lid is clean from any drips or drops of Diamond Finish prior to closing lid. I don't recommend using a cheap brush. A good quality, soft, medium to thick brush worked well for me. These types of brushes allowed the product to spread evenly and easily without seeing brush strokes on items; it's worth it. I had to practice a couple of times applying the correct amount of "product and brush pressure" to achieve a beautiful result. The technology technicians provided excellent customer support and answered every one of my questions. They were extremely helpful and professional. That's hard to experience this day in time. The Diamond Finish is a little pricey. I'd purchase more if it was a bit lower. I love the smaller cans. They are much easier for me to work with. My only recommendation is to allow customers to purchase several 4 oz cans for a lot less cost. The product is excellent.

disappointed
directions for use is confusing for non pros. I used high quality foam roller and followed direction I think to the letter. It bubbled really bad. Sanded off, and tried to spray it on with quality gun. Even after recommended thinning it was not going on evenly. I went back to roller. no bubbles but very hard to get on evenly. I went slow and did not over work it as instructions say, but hard to get it spread well and not roll it to a certain point. after getting roller loaded it goes on thick to start then gets thinner as product goes on. Then heavy after reloading roller. Not supposed to over roll it so getting it even is hard. Ended with very orange peel effect, and weak spots. I would just use paint store clear coat in future. places where I used a high quality brush to do tight spots came out great. super smooth and clear. Customer service did respond by phone, and gave me some pointers for second try so no complaints there. I have done several boats and cars in past so not a newbie at how to do this, so I would say if your not a pro it is very hard to get a good result. Their video is very short and and does not show doing large sections or what it looks like after it cures.
